Postcards from the Future
Postcards from the Future
When the time comes to travel again, these destinations are the ones to visit next.
While we were sleeping-……well while we were wearing pajamas all day……these beautiful hotels and resorts were busy sprucing up and upping their cleanliness and safety protocols in preparation for our return in 2021.
With the first vaccines finally rolling out, it seems the end of our long international nightmare is finally (finally!) in sight.
These are a few of my favorite travel things………although I think I’ve forgotten how to pack.
Postcard snapshots plus where to stay when you plan your travel for 2021.
Bahamas, Harbour Island
One of the loveliest and most welcoming places to stay on Harbour Island is the elegantly restored Bahama House. An intimate hotel with eleven plantation-style suites surrounding a bougainvillea filled courtyard and a coral stone swimming pool; the main building was originally a shop for schooner builders in the 1800’s. Guests can step back into the island’s storied history here while enjoying the lavish touches of a modern hotel.
The real vacation treasure lies within the unique guided experiences led by the expert staff of the Bahama House, one of the luxury adventure lodges operated by Eleven Experience.
Whatever you choose to do each day, Bahama House executive chef Nikoya Lightbourne (one of the youngest and only female executive chefs on Harbour Island) is ready for any appetite with enlightened culinary experiences inspired by the taste traditions of her native Bahamas. Her Bahamian Banana Pancakes with sausage and Lobster Eggs Benedict are breakfast favorites to start the day.
